Step 2 CS Suspended for 12-18 Months

Given the delivery methods of the USMLE Step 2 CS exam, the USMLE has decided to suspend the exam for the next 12-18 months (as of May 2020) with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.  For more information on the USMLE’s decision, listen to this interview with the Chief Assessment Officer for the Federation of State Medical Boards, the Vice President for Licensure Programs at NBME, and the Executive Director of the Clinical Skills Evaluation Collaboration.

We will provide updates as the the USMLE releases details for the future of this exam and what alternatives may develop.  For now, enjoy the fact that its one less task you have to complete before applying to residency.
